A Trip To London!

Hi girls!

I actually got a weekend this week! I had Friday and Saturday off and an awesome weekend was had!! I got tickets to go to the Warner Brother Studios in Leavesden (just outside London) to go to the Making of Harry Potter!! So Robert and I headed down on the Thursday night. Usually Robert always drives it, but this time I drove the whole way down (and Robert drove us back up!). We stayed over night in Preston and then had all day to get down to leavesden for 3pm (when our time slot was). On the journey of course we partake in some service station stops and in one found a "Jen" Diet Coke!

Ever since these named bottles came out Robert has got into the habit of trying to find any with my name on it. It was quite cool actually finding one though!! We also picked up the new Dan Brown book called Inferno, which Robert and I are reading together and so far it is amazing!! We could just keep on reading it and its really interesting, as the start has a new take on what the previous books have. Oh and its another book with the character Robert Langdon, Robert and I would totally recommend picking it up!!

Ok so I am not going to be writing about the Harry Potter Studios in this post. I took so many photos and have not had a chance to look through them properly and decide what ones I am going to share with you. Also it really does deserve its own post! Let me just say though that it was one of the best days ever!!!!I will just give you a sneak peek with these two photos!

After the tour, Robert and I headed into London as we were going to be visiting the Westfield shopping centre in London the next day (Saturday). We got a hotel in Hammersmith and went out for some pizza for our dinner! Our hotel ended up actually really close to Westfield, so after our yummy breakfast, we headed over to Shepherds Bush! 

The exciting bit about my day was that I had arranged to meet Rebecca from Puddle of Grace! My first blogger meet up! I was to meet her at half 12, so as Robert and I got there just after 11am I got to do a bit of shopping first! I ended up feeling quite nervous about meeting Rebecca. I guess it is quite strange when you read someone's blog and you feel like you get to know them, but when you actually meet them in person, you get nervous because you don't actually "know" them. Anyway the meet up went fab and we went to Costa and had a great chat! It was so nice being able to talk about your blog with someone who has a blog too and that they feel the exact same way you do about it all. Rebecca also hasn't told anyone that she blogs, which is the same for me (with the exception of Robert), so I guess it was good for both of us! All of you should check out her blog, because she is one of the loveliest people out! While Rebecca and I were in Costa, my lovely Robert was quite happy to have a wander around Westfield, so thank you pet!

Robert and I then left Westfield at half 2 and started our journey back home! After two hours on the road we were at Manchester, somehow the M40 is a lot faster than going up the M1! We decided to go for dinner in the Trafford Centre and of course chose our favourite; TGI Friday's. We decided not to get a dessert and instead got a Krispy Kreme doughnut! We got home at 11pm, so overall the journey was not too long at all! Robert ended up driving the whole way home. When we were driving through the Lake District the motorway was just the thickest fog for miles. It was quite scary as by that point it was dark. Its quite funny though because as I was working in the shop on Sunday morning, it meant that within 24 hours I had been in the Westfield in London,the Trafford Centre in Manchester and Silverburn in Glasgow!

Vroom Vroom

Hi girls!!

A couple of weeks ago, I was taking my dad to the airport (he was going to Stornoway on business for the day). I do this quite often, so I know the road well and there is a few bumps in the road coming up to the drop off point. The road curves round and as I was going round the bend, police men were standing on the road. It all happened so fast (hehe) that I never even realised that they were pointing the speed gun at my car...

I never really noticed what speed I was going, but I knew I wasn't going that fast because of the speed bumps. So Mr Policeman tells me to stop and as I never realised what they were doing my naivety told me they were probably doing some sort of survey or safety check..... Haha! I have never spoken to a police officer before never mind being pulled over by one, so that is what my mind expected! So anyway, I stop and he comes over to the window and shows me the reader on his speed gun (at this point all I could think was how much I wished I had been right about the survey....) it said 32mph. I was like ok I wasn't going fast that's fine and then he says its a 20mph limit so please could you pull over to the side of the road just beside the police van.

And no sadly this was not me on that fateful day, and sadly this is not my car! I was in Las Vegas here!

I just looked at my dad, I never really knew what to say! I parked behind a taxi, which was parked beside three police vans and one police car. Yes I did say three vans (what a waste of resources eh?!). They basically could pull over every single car that drove past as everyone was going over 20mph, but as there was not enough room for cars to be stopped, they were pulling over about 4 cars at a time. There must of been about 20 police officers walking about, most of them not really doing anything at all. It really was just my luck that I happened to be plucked out of the many cars going past!

A police man came over to my car and asked if I could go to the van. The van?!! I am not a criminal! Obviously I never said that, but wandered into the police van to see another pool soul being picked apart by an officer. Haha, I waited for ages just sitting waiting for the officer to get my details etc. Thinking that these things do not happen to me! Oh well it did! 

I mean they were nice to me and everything, I just thought it was a bit unfair to be picking on people trying to drive people to the airport! Its not as if people even walk along the pavements on that road anyway! Its all just cars! So anyway now I have three points on my licence (sad face), all because I was going at 30mph! Its not as if I was going fast!! Grrr, I always thought I would be lucky and not get any points, but after four years I do! 

Ok here is my actual car on the day I got him (March 2012) all nice and shiny!

You can't blame me for going fast anyway... Jenson made me do it! That is why he is named after the Formula One driver you see! Hehe! By the time you read this I will be making my way towards the Warner Brothers Studios for the Making of Harry Potter! Sooooo excited!!

Thankful

I am thankful for...

Having Robert in my life, who is my absolute rock and love of my life.

My little cats, Alice and Flo, who I absolutely dote on. My little precious ones, who make my life better by the bond we have.

My parents... They gave me the best childhood I could have ever asked for. I have a dad who is like a best friend and ok I don't get on with my mum all the time, but I know she loves me more than anything. I am so so thankful for having them as the best parents ever!!

My health. Ok so I have eczema (which has been behaving itself very well this past year!!), I sneeze all the time and my shoulders are sore a lot, but I never need to take any medicine and I don't ever feel ill or unwell. So I am thankful for that!

Being happy! I have said it before, but hey I can say it again... I feel just so so content with my life right now, things are going great! So I am very thankful for that!!!

Recent Make Up Buys!

Just a little haul of some make up bits that I have bought recently! 

I went to Boots a while ago only to realise that there was a 3 for 2 deal on Revlon products. I had went in looking to see the new Lip Butter colours and when I loved the look of two of them obviously I was going to pick something else up!!So onto the Lip Butters; I picked up Pink Lemonade and Juicy Papaya. I absolutely love these two colours and they are both quite milky looking on the lips, which is so pretty! They are the exact same consistency and feel as all the other lip butters and I love them!! Great fresh colours, which are perfect for spring and summer! Revlon Lip butters are £7.99 each!

So now onto my freebie!! I was swithering as to what to get, but one of Revlons lip glosses caught my eye. Its called Crystal Water, which is apparently a new shade as well. This is a clear gloss packed full of sparkle, blue, pink, purple and silver. It is all so iridescent and the glitter is so tiny, that it just feels completely smooth on the lips. I love the Revlon lip glosses and this one will be perfect to layer over lipsticks, to add more sparkle and loads of shine! These lip glosses are £7.99. Also can I just say that these photos do not do the sparkle justice at all!!

My latest make up buy is from Accessorize. I love their lip glosses and I have a few nail polishes from them too. So I picked up a nail polish called Butterfly, which is this amazing milky colour filled with blue and pink glitter. It is a bit of a dupe for Nails Inc Sprinkles collection or even Illamasqua's Speckled collection (but the glitter is coloured), but a steal at only £4! I will do a little nail of the day post with this polish soon!

I then also picked up this brand new eye shadow palette for £9, which has 32 shades! Its called the Exposed palette and I would say its a cross between Urban Decays Naked palettes and Sleek's Storm palette. The colours are all along the neutral line and I cannot wait to try them! I will definitely be creating some looks with this and showing you girls!!

It's shades range from the lightest brown to pure black and has lots of mattes all the way up to pure shimmer! Let me know what you think of this girls! 

Coming Up In Its A Blondes Life!

Hi girls! I hope you are all well! 

I feel as if this week I have been quite absent from my blog, which is quite unlike me! I thought I would do just a little catch up of what has been happening and more excitingly what is coming up in my life!!

Firstly and just to get it out of the way, yesterday I attended Robert's aunts funeral, which was a very sad occasion, but it was a lovely ceremony and really celebrated her life. Rona really lived life to the full and had travelled to so many places, but sadly at 57 cancer took hold of her spine and the doctors said they couldn't do anything for her. I am just glad that she is no longer in any pain. I know she will be looking over Robert's mum and will be so proud of her family.

Ok so onto happier things! Robert and I are desperate to find a house!! It is so hard at the moment, because there is not really a lot for sale. I am sure something will come up soon, but for now its just a waiting game! I have got lots of exciting things happening in the near future too. Tomorrow night I will be out for a friends birthday! Next week I am heading down to London! Next Friday we are going to the Warner Brother Studios to see the Making Of Harry Potter!! Eeeek I am so excited about it! Then on the Saturday, we are going into London and I am going to be let loose in the Westfield Shopping Centre! This is also even more exciting, because I should hopefully be meeting up with the lovely Rebecca from Puddle Of Grace! My first Bloggers meet up, yay!! So that's going to be an awesome weekend!

Another exciting event coming up in June is that I am going to the Capital Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium! Woohoo, which means another trip to London for me! I am going with two of my friends and it should be a great weekend! Justin Timberlake is the host of the concert, which is just so so cool. Taylor Swift, Will I Am, Olly Murs, The Wanted, The Saturdays, Labrinth, Jessie J and the list goes on and on.... Its going to be a great day! I am driving down, so a road trip is going to be had! Its going to be hilarious when Psy comes on, 80,000 people will be doing Gangnam Style along with him!! How awesome!!

At the end of June Robert and I are going down to London again for the Silverstone Formula One! Robert is very excited about this! We then have Robert's cousins wedding to go to the day after! So its all go! I have no clue what to wear for that, so I will have to keep an eye out!

And all that is just at the start of Summer!! Have you girls got anything exciting planned yet?
